How to make the most out of life.

Life. It's precious. It's magical. Wouldn't you like to enjoy it to the fullest? I know I sure would. So here is a short list of ways you can do that. These are things that I work on in my own practice. And I can tell you, it works. Life is so much more enjoyable. Full of joy, magic, wonder, beauty, peace, ease.

This list is not exhaustive. There's certainly more things you can try. But this is a great way to start creating the most fulfilling and joyful life you can.

Make the most out of life

1- Slow down

This is the big one. In a society that is all about pushing and doing and going, this is often a difficult concept to apply. When we push ourselves constantly, always aiming for better, higher, stronger...our nervous system is always activated. That means it doesn't get to rest. Rest is essential for the body to repair itself. The nervous system - you - have to feel like you're in a safe place and be calm and relaxed for that repairing and healing to occur.

So sit down and relax. Put your technology aside. Because, yes, that counts as doing a lot. Screens are very stimulating.

Here's a few things you can try:

  • Schedule a day every week where you make no plans. And then see how you feel that day to decide what you will do, moment to moment.

  • When you are doing a task, give it your full attention. Immerse yourself in each moment.

  • Reduce the amount of responsibilities/obligations on your plate.

And once you feel like you've slowed down, slow down some more.

2- Listen

Listen to what you want, not what others tell you to do. You're the only one who knows what you truly need and want. Tune in and listen to your Spirit as it guides you through life.

When someone's talking to you, listen. Put your phone away. Stop thinking about other things. Pay attention to their words, their body language, their energy.

Listen to what your surroundings say. Listen to your senses, your intuition.

3- Surround yourself with Nature

We don't just come from Nature. We are Nature.

Many humans have become disconnected from Nature, and so, have become disconnected from themselves. That's why going out in Nature feels so good. We are designed to feel grounded and comforted around Nature. Not including maybe feeling out of place because some people aren't used to it anymore. But there are many ways to keep Nature around you. And to get the benefits that Nature provides. Fresh air, a sense of calm, reduce anxiety or feelings of depression, improve mood, clear the mind, and the list goes on!

Our connection to Nature is our direct connection to Spirit, to our source, to understanding our Selves.

So pick whatever reason works for you and get out there!

4- Stop trying to fix people, including yourself.

There's nothing to fix. You're already perfect. You're far more than good enough. And so are they.

It's not your responsibility to make things better for other people. You cannot do their healing work for them.

5- Let go of the old

Old relationships, old ways of thinking, old patterns. That time someone said something and it upset you. Release all the crap that you're holding onto. It drains your energy and lowers your mood when you hold onto old emotions and situations. Making the most out of life requires letting go of that stuff that brings you down.

6- Pursue your passions

Once you've listened long enough, you'll learn what truly drives you. The things you are most passionate about. Create an enriched and fulfilling life by doing these things that bring you the most joy! Regardless of what people say. Regardless of limitations. You can find a way.

Let's recap!

6 actions to make the most out of life. Practice these daily to feel the full benefits.

Slow down, listen, surround yourself with Nature, stop trying to fix people including yourself, let go of the old. Some of these actions may take time to get the hang of. Prioritize it so you can make it a habit and see the great difference it makes.
